For more than 20 years the Freischwimmer Restaurant at Flutgraben in Kreuzberg has been offering exquisite snacks and dinner dishes. In the Freischwimmer Restaurant you sit on the charmingly improvised wooden terrace directly at the Flutgraben, which flows into the Spree only a few metres away. Especially in the evening hours, visitors like to treat themselves to a romantic candlelight dinner. You might start this with a dozen oysters or a creamy cauliflower soup. DiscoEat can also recommend home-marinated salmon, smoked duck breast and beetroot-based panna cotta as entrée. The main courses are clear but exquisite. On the menu you will find, for example, tender veal cheeks with celery puree, scallops and pancetta as well as Oldenburg duck breast with raw vegetable salad. Another speciality of the house are the truffle taglierini. The bakers are also busy in the kitchen of the Freischwimmer Restaurant: they prepare tarte flambée in the typical Alsatian style. There are also exciting variations, e.g. vegetarian with gorgonzola, artichokes and black olives. For dessert you can order cookie mousse or noble parfait. As a snack with wine, the restaurant offers an exquisite cheese selection, Kalamata olives, shrimps and South American ceviche.
